What To Expect
Day 1: Arrival
2 pm: Arrival, welcome, orientation, and settling into your private forest cabin.
2-4 pm: Meet other guests at the lakefront garden and enjoy fresh lemonade and snack while taking in the serenity.
Before dinner meet your CEO (Chief Experience Officer) at the adventure center for an introduction to activities and equipment.
6:30 pm: Your local chef will introduce dinner featuring garden-fresh, local and organic food. After dinner, you will have the opportunity to participate in an interactive presentation on the wildlife of Algonquin Park. After the presentation, enjoy the evening and the peaceful surroundings huddled up next to the campfire.
Day 2: Moose Safari
8 am: Breakfast at the Explorer’s Cabin
After breakfast, take part in a morning tea with a moose safari, enjoy a canoeing tour on the Amable Du Fond River. Paddle in the mist, sipping Algonquin Tea Co. teas & learn about Algonquin Park's animal residents. In the afternoon, explore the forgotten trails on a guided hike or mountain bike tour.
For the adventurous, bike to Moose Meadow, or do a bike and hike combo to Loxton and Moose Mountain trails. After a day on the trails, your chef will fire up the lakefront wood-fired sauna. Relax in the garden with a book or take a dip in the lake from the warm sandy beach.
Dinner: Gather around the forest bake oven for the best hand-made wood-fired pizza you've ever had. After dinner, it’s time for a Wolf Howl. At the Explorer’s Cabin, you will take part in a presentation and discussion of the Algonquin Park wolves, recent studies of wolf ecology, and efforts to conserve and protect this treasured species of Algonquin. Travel to Algonquin Park's Nahma Lake, home to a wolf pack. Belt out your best wolf howl, and wait in silence in the darkness for the possibility of a spine-tingling response.
Day 3: Trip to Craig Lake
8 am: Breakfast at the Explorer’s Cabin
9 am-3 pm: Day Trip to Craig Lake. Travel a short distance to the South River where you will paddle, hike or bike in search of signs of the wolves that you tempted into howling the night before. Canoe the flat water South River and/or Nahma Lake in search of more signs of moose and Algonquin Park wildlife. Enjoy a delicious shore lunch prepared by your CEO as you enjoy the wind blowing through the pine trees on Nahma Lake.
Evening: Campfire and Sauna. In your cabin, tuck under the covers and drift to sleep to the echoing call of loons.
Day 4: Kayaking
7:30 am: Breakfast at the Explorer’s Cabin
9 am: Choose your adventure. Talk to your CEO about nearby trails or on-the-water destinations. Make use of your favorite outdoor equipment or try a new one. Canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, and bikes are all available.
1:30-3 pm: Group photos and hugs before guests head on their way.
