8 Day Anchorage, Seward, and Denali Explorer
Style: Independent Touring
Day 1: Arrive Seward
Day 2: National Park Cruise
This is Alaska's most popular wildlife and glacier cruise! We depart from Seward, Alaska, and provide an in-depth experience of Kenai Fjords National Park's abundant wildlife, alpine and tidewater glaciers. Tours are fully narrated by our experienced captains and include a visit to the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge, home to teeming seabird rookeries
Day 3: Seward - Anchorage (Coach)
Today say goodbye to Seward heading along the Seward Highway through the scenic Turnagain Arm. Here are spectacular tides, among the highest in the world, which attract the beluga whales who hunt salmon in the turbulent, murky waters.
Day 4: Anchorage - Denali with Alaska Railroad
Departing Anchorage along the scenic Cook Inlet, and by afternoon you'll arrive in Denali National Park. Here, you can choose from a wide range of optional activities like river rafting, helicopter flightseeing, or horseback riding
Day 5: Denali National Park Sightseeing
Today's tour to view the abundant wildlife that thrives in Denali will be a trip highlight. You'll enjoy sightings of moose, black and grizzly bears, caribou, Dall sheep, coyotes, foxes, and possibly wolves, while bald and golden eagles soar overhead. In the afternoon, choose from one of many complimentary park-sponsored activities and optional Denali tours including guided hikes plus white-water rafting, fixed-wing flightseeing, and horseback riding.
Day 6: Denali - Fairbanks with Alaska Railroad
The coal-mining town of Healy follows after a 10-mile jaunt through Healy canyon, where the surging waters of the Nenana River cut through the steep-sided cliffs. As the track levels out, Nenana comes into view. It is home to one of the remaining original Alaska Railroad Depots, now a museum and gift shop. The track cuts through the northern boreal forests of interior Alaska. Birch, aspen, and willow fill this landscape where gold miners first came to seek their fortunes. Fifty-eight miles from Nenana, Fairbanks, the "Golden Heart City" signals the end of the line - but just the beginning for more adventure, culture, and history in the Last Frontier
Day 7: Fairbanks Sightseeing
And cruise the great rivers of Alaska! Your three-hour cruise will take you into the heart of Alaska and introduce you to a family who has made the rivers of Alaska a way of life for five generations. You will see a bush floatplane takeoff alongside the boat, visit the home and kennels of the late four-time Iditarod winner Susan Butcher and see her champion sled dogs in action.
Be immersed into the ancient Athabascan Indian culture when our Alaskan Native Guides take you on a personalized tour of the Chena Indian Village. The Binkley family invites you to experience a slice of Alaskan life!
