18 Day Eastern Panorama

This tour features the highlights of Eastern Canada. Visit Ottawa, the nation’s capital, then travel to Québec to discover the culture. Visit New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia before ending in Niagara Falls.

Day 1: Arrival in Ottawa, ON

Fly from your home city to Ottawa, our nation’s capital and one of the most popular cities in Canada to visit.

Day 2: Ottawa, ON

A full morning of sightseeing with a local guide including a visit to the Parliament Buildings, Rideau Hall, Rideau Canal, Notre Dame Cathedral and much more. This afternoon is at your leisure to visit Byward Market or the nearby museums. This evening enjoys an optional performance at the National Arts Centre, Canada’s premier centre for the performing arts.

Day 3: Ottawa – Québec City, QC

Travel through the Québec countryside, arrive in Montreal for a city tour including Old Montreal, Mont-Royal, Chinatown, Little Italy, and St Joseph’s Oratory before continuing on to Canada’s oldest city, Québec City. Enjoy leisure time on the narrow streets, and explore the shops of Old Québec. A special treat tonight is a traditional “French” dinner at an authentic Sugar Shack.

Day 4: Québec City, QC

Discover Québec City on a guided tour including the Fortifications, Place d’Armes, Plains of Abraham, Cape Diamond, and the Citadel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in this wonderfully cultural city.

Day 5: Québec City – Edmundston, NB

This morning visit the famous woodcarvers of St. Jean Port Jolie. Enter New Brunswick, the largest province in Atlantic Canada and a short drive brings us to the French community of Edmundston. Stop at the New Brunswick Botanical Gardens, comprised of eight gardens and two arboreta, offering nature lovers a stunning setting to savour.

Day 6: Edmundston - Saint John, NB

Follow the scenic St. John River, Atlantic Canada’s most picturesque river to the Hartland Covered Bridge, the longest in the world. Continue to Fredericton and arrive at Kings Landing, a lively authentic village depicting the one hundred year transformation of a young colony into a vibrant nation. A short drive brings our happy travellers to Saint John.

Day 7: Saint John - Moncton, NB

Today visit the natural phenomenon of the Reversing Falls where the Bay of Fundy tides force the Saint John River to reverse direction. This afternoon we travel through the Fundy National Park, on our way to the Hopewell Rocks to see the Flowerpots. These peculiar formations are forested islands at high tide and resemble flowerpots at low tide.

Day 8: Moncton - Summerside, PEI

The first stop this morning is Magnetic Hill to witness your motorcoach coasting uphill with no power. Then it’s off to the fishing village of Shediac for a photo opportunity with the world’s largest lobster. Board the Ambassador Cruise Ship for an experience of a lifetime.

Watch experienced fishermen haul in real lobster traps, learn about lobster and the fisheries and savour a freshly cooked lobster lunch on board. Next, cross over the magnificent Confederation Bridge on our way to the province of Prince Edward Island.

Day 9: Charlottetown and PEI Tour

A local guide will board our coach this morning and sightseeing today includes Anne of Green Gables, Cavendish National Park, and the fishing village of North Rustico, just to name a few. This afternoon, sample some of the best preserves in the world at the Prince Edward Island Preserves Company.

Day 10: Summerside - Baddeck, NS

Leave Summerside and travel to Wood Islands to board the Ferry to Caribou on the Nova Scotia mainland. Via the Canso Causeway, cross to Cape Breton Island. Drive along the pristine shores of Bras d’Or Lake, where hundreds of bald eagles nest along the shore and the surrounding countryside. At Baddeck pay a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum to see the many inventions this genius fostered.

Day 11: Cabot Trail, NS

Today experience a picturesque trip around the renowned Cabot Trail and Margaree Valley. Along the way visit Flora’s, a wonderful gift shop that features Cheticamp Rug Hooking. Tour Cape Breton Highlands National Park, with stops at Lone Shieling, Pleasant Bay and Neil’s Harbour.

Day 12: Baddeck - Halifax, NS

Today continue along the shores of the island’s beautiful inland sea – the Bras d’Or Lakes. Arrive in Halifax and see Halifax from a different viewpoint aboard a wildlife watching harbour tour. Enjoy leisure time walking along the Halifax boardwalk.

Day 13: Halifax, NS

This morning discover Halifax on a city tour highlighting the Victorian Public Gardens, Titanic Grave Sites, Historic Properties, Province House, Old Town Clock, City Hall, St. Paul’s Church and much more. This afternoon travel to Peggy’s Cove, one of the most picturesque spots in all of Nova Scotia. Continue along a portion of the Lighthouse Trail to Mahone Bay, a postcard-perfect maritime town and named one of Canada’s best small-town downtowns by Harrowsmith Country Life Magazine.

Day 14: Halifax - Edmundston, NB

Depart Halifax this morning and travel to the small coal-mining town of Springhill, home of Anne Murray, Canada’s very own songbird. Visit the Anne Murray Centre and see firsthand the incomparable mix of awards, photographs, memorabilia and audio-visual highlights of Anne Murray’s life and career in a series of award-winning, three-dimensional displays. Continue on to Edmundston for an overnight stay.

Day 15: Edmundston - Montreal, QC

Continue travelling east across New Brunswick and into the province of Québec to Montreal. Check into the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 16: Montreal - Kingston, ON

A short journey this morning brings our coach to Kingston. Enjoy a short historic trolley tour of the Limestone City as well as a visit to Bellevue House.

Day 17: Kingston - Niagara Falls, ON

Fall is grand in Southwestern Ontario as we travel through the rolling countryside. Explore Niagara Falls then don your raincoat and board a Hornblower Cruise to get a close-up view of these gigantic falls. Take a 52-second ride up the Skylon Tower and dine atop the tower that rises an impressive 775 feet above the Niagara gorge and provides a breathtaking view of the Horseshoe and American Falls.

Day 18: Depart Toronto, ON

Today transfer from Niagara Falls to Toronto and board a return flight home with wonderful memories of our great land.
