What You Can Expect
Get a different perspective of the incredible scenery of Banff, during this 1- or 2-hour horse trip along the Bow River. This riding experience provides visitors with a first-hand taste of the wild landscape around Banff, much as the early settlers would have seen it, while mounted on horseback. Begin the day at Warner Stables (check the start time with your tour operator) where you’ll meet your guide, receive a safety briefing and select your horse. From there, the tour heads out on one of two different options. Those who select the 1-hour tour will mount up for a ride to the natural hot springs, one of nine such sites in the area, and continue on a loop around the nearby marsh. From there the trail follows the placid Bow River, taking in the great views of Mount Norquay and Castle Mountain in the distance. The 2-hour tour is great way to further immerse yourself in the scenery and history of this unique wilderness area. The trail follows the Bow River, ascending to Sulphur Mountain before passing the historic Rimrock Resort Hotel and then heading back down a relaxed descent to the Spray River. Traverse the boundary of Fairmont Banff Spring Golf Course before returning to Warner Stables.
