What To Expect
Start this tea tour at a Montreal-based, Chinese tea grower located in Chinatown. Taste traditional Chinese tea with funky fresh branding. Learn about its function and enjoy some free time to shop. Afterward, travel to Montreal's Latin Quarter before taking a crash course on the different methods of tea tasting. Then learn how to verbalize the experience at one of the world's top-5 tea importers. This tea salon also runs its own tea sommelier school.
Continue on to the Plateau and visit a French tea importer, perfumer, and retailer that's been open since 1867. Taste, smell and learn about their storied history.
Next, take a 10-minute walk through the Plateau to a tea-based, Victorian-style mixology bar. Meet and greet its manager and master mixologist, and learn about tea from the production, retailing, tasting, historical, and mixology side. Enjoy a tea-based cocktail and fancy gourmet tastings, set amidst sumptuous decor.
Following the mixology bar, walk to Montreal's hip Mile End area, with a couple of cultural stops along the way, including DAVIDsTEA, the largest Canadian-based specialty tea boutique in the country. Then finish the tour with a 45-minute stop in a classically beautiful tea room. Enjoy high tea with finger sandwiches and desserts, plus a tea tasting.
