Classic Tour - 33 Days (32 Nights)

This tour is a “bucket list” adventure. Experience this magnificent country as you travel from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean on a tour specifically designed to show you the panoramic beauty and rich cultural diversity that is “Our Canada”!

Day 1: Arrival in Vancouver, BC

Arrive in Vancouver and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Vancouver – Kelowna, BC

Vancouver city tour and departure to Kelowna along the Coquihalla through the Fraser Valley.

Day 3: Kelowna - Banff, AB

From Kelowna to Banff, the drive is already spectacular. You pass through two epic National Parks, Canada’s Glacier and Yoho. You will have a stop in downtown Revelstoke on your way to Banff. Explore one of the world’s greatest mountain highways while you are driving. Upon arrival at the lake, discover the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Lake Louise and Banff National Park.

Day 4: Banff - Calgary, AB

During your drive from Banff to Calgary, you will explore the incredible scenery of the Canadian Rockies. Discover Calgary on a guided city tour.

Day 5: Calgary - Swift Current, SK

Your exciting cross Canada holiday continues as you cross the southern plains of Alberta into Saskatchewan.

Day 6: Swift Current - Winnipeg, MB

Today, continue across the Canadian prairies to Winnipeg, the capital city of Manitoba. The evening is at your leisure.

Day 7: Winnipeg - Thunder Bay, ON

A scenic drive across the Canadian Shield, past Lake of the Woods to Thunder Bay, western terminus of the Great Lakes, St. Lawrence Seaway. We stop to view spectacular Kakabeka Falls, the Niagara of the North.

Day 8: Thunder Bay - Sault Ste. Marie, ON

Follow the waters of the great Lake Superior and travel to Sault Ste. Marie, Canada’s 2nd largest steel-producing city. Stops along the way include the Terry Fox Monument, the 9-meter Steel Goose Sculpture and Young’s General Store at Wawa, to munch on a pickle from the pickle barrel.

Day 9: Sault Ste. Marie - Ottawa, ON

Continuing through Ontario, we reach Ottawa, our nation’s capital and one of the most popular cities in Canada to visit.

Day 10: Ottawa, ON

A full morning of sightseeing with a local guide including a visit to the Parliament Buildings, Rideau Hall, Rideau Canal, Notre Dame Cathedral and much more. This afternoon is at your leisure to visit Byward Market or the nearby museums. This evening enjoy an optional performance at the National Arts Centre, Canada’s premiere centre for the performing arts.

Day 11: Ottawa – Québec City, QC

Travel through the Québec countryside, arrive in Montreal for a city tour including Old Montreal, Mont Royal, Chinatown, Little Italy, and St Joseph’s Oratory before continuing on to Canada’s oldest city, Québec City. Enjoy leisure time on the narrow streets, and explore the shops of Old Québec. A special treat tonight is a traditional “French” dinner at an authentic Sugar Shack.

Day 12: Québec City, QC

Discover Québec City on a guided tour including the Fortifications, Place d’Armes, Plains of Abraham, Cape Diamond, and the Citadel. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy in this wonderfully cultural city.

Day 13: Québec City – Edmundston, NB

This morning visit the famous woodcarvers of St. Jean Port Jolie. Enter New Brunswick, the largest province in Atlantic Canada and a short drive brings us to the French community of Edmundston. Stop at the New Brunswick Botanical Gardens, comprised of eight gardens and two arboreta, offering nature lovers a stunning setting to savour.

Day 14: Edmundston - Saint John, NB

Follow the scenic St. John River, Atlantic Canada’s most picturesque river to the Hartland Covered Bridge, the longest in the world. Continue to Fredericton and arrive at Kings Landing, a lively authentic village depicting the one hundred year transformation of a young colony into a vibrant nation. A short drive brings our happy travellers to Saint John.

Day 15: Saint John - Moncton, NB

Today visit the natural phenomenon of the Reversing Falls where the Bay of Fundy tides force the Saint John River to reverse direction. This afternoon we travel through the Fundy National Park, on our way to the Hopewell Rocks to see the Flowerpots. These peculiar formations are forested islands at high tide and resemble flowerpots at low tide.

Day 16: Moncton - Summerside, PEI

The first stop this morning is Magnetic Hill to witness your motorcoach coasting uphill with no power. Then it’s off to the fishing village of Shediac for a photo opportunity with the world’s largest lobster. Board the Ambassador Cruise Ship for an experience of a lifetime. Watch experienced fisherman haul in real lobster traps, learn about lobster and the fisheries and savour a freshly cooked lobster lunch on board. Next, cross over the magnificent Confederation Bridge on our way to the province of Prince Edward Island.

Day 17: Charlottetown and PEI Tour

A local guide will board our coach this morning and sightseeing today includes Anne of Green Gables, Cavendish National Park, and the fishing village of North Rustico, just to name a few. This afternoon, sample some of the best preserves in the world at the Prince Edward Island Preserves Company.

Day 18: Summerside - Baddeck, NS

Leave Summerside and travel to Wood Islands to board the Ferry to Caribou on the Nova Scotia mainland. Via the Canso Causeway, cross to Cape Breton Island. Drive along the pristine shores of Bras d’Or Lake, where hundreds of bald eagles nest along the shore and the surrounding countryside. At Baddeck pay a visit to the Alexander Graham Bell Museum to see the many inventions this genius fostered.

Day 19: Cabot Trail, NS

Today experience a picturesque trip around the renowned Cabot Trail and Margaree Valley. Along the way visit Flora’s, a wonderful gift shop that features Cheticamp Rug Hooking. Tour Cape Breton Highlands National Park, with stops at Lone Shieling, Pleasant Bay and Neil’s Harbour.

Day 20: Baddeck - Halifax, NS

Today continue along the shores of the island’s beautiful inland sea – the Bras d’Or Lakes. Arrive in Halifax and see Halifax from a different viewpoint aboard a wildlife watching harbour tour. Enjoy leisure time walking along the Halifax boardwalk.

Day 21: Halifax, NS

This morning discover Halifax on a city tour highlighting the Victorian Public Gardens, Titanic Grave Sites, Historic Properties, Province House, Old Town Clock, City Hall, St. Paul’s Church and much more. This afternoon travel to Peggy’s Cove, one of the most picturesque spots in all of Nova Scotia. Continue along a portion of the Lighthouse Trail to Mahone Bay, postcard-perfect maritime town and named one of Canada’s best small-town downtowns by Harrowsmith Country Life Magazine.

Day 22: Halifax - Edmundston, NB

Depart Halifax this morning and travel to the small coal mining town of Springhill, home of Anne Murray, Canada’s very own songbird. Visit the Anne Murray Centre and see firsthand the incomparable mix of awards, photographs, memorabilia and audio-visual highlights of Anne Murray’s life and career in a series of award winning, three-dimensional displays. Continue on to Edmundston for an overnight stay.

Day 23: Edmundston - Montreal, QC

Continue travelling east across New Brunswick and into the province of Québec to Montreal. Check into the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 24: Montreal - Kingston, ON

A short journey this morning brings our coach to Kingston. Enjoy a short historic trolley tour of the Limestone City as well as a visit to Bellevue House.

Day 25: Kingston - Niagara Falls, ON

Fall is grand in Southwestern Ontario as we travel through the rolling countryside. Explore Niagara Falls then don your raincoat and board a Hornblower Cruise to get a close up view of these gigantic falls. Take a 52 second ride up the Skylon Tower and dine atop the tower that rises an impressive 775 feet above the Niagara gorge and provides a breathtaking view of the Horseshoe and American Falls.

Day 26: Niagara Falls - Frankenmuth, MI

Today cross the border into Michigan and arrive in the Bavarian town of Frankenmuth for sightseeing and a visit to Bronner’s, the world’s largest year-round Christmas store with beautifully landscaped grounds. Tonight, enjoy a world famous Frankenmuth-style chicken dinner.

Day 27: Frankenmuth - Mackinac Island, MI

Travel north through a very scenic area of Michigan to Mackinaw City, located on the shores of Lake Huron. Board a hydroplane ferry to Mackinac Island. From the moment you arrive on the island, you are back in the 19th century. Since no motor vehicles are permitted, there is an unusual sense of peace and quiet. Experience the atmosphere of the island by horse drawn carriage with free time to stroll through the historic downtown.

Day 28: Mackinac Island - Duluth, MN

Our travels take us north this morning as we cross the Mackinac Bridge, which connects lower Michigan to its upper peninsula. Drive along the north shore of Lake Michigan crossing into Minnesota, and arrive in Duluth, gateway to Lake Superior’s scenic north shore.

Day 29: Duluth - Winnipeg, MB

Continue travelling through Minnesota, crossing the international border back into Canada and arrive in Winnipeg.

Day 30: Winnipeg, MB

Visit Assiniboine Park and the widely acclaimed Journey to Churchill exhibit, a 10-acre Arctic and northern species exhibit and the only project of its kind ever undertaken in Canada aimed at issues related to climate change and the protection of polar bears and other northern species. The signature exhibit is rooted in real places from forests, tundra and ice to the northern town of Churchill - the polar bear capital of the world. At the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, explore human rights issues, past, present and future in Canada and around the world, featured in new media displays, hands on exhibits and thought-provoking dialogue with everyday heroes. Evening is at your leisure.

Day 31: Winnipeg - Swift Current, SK

Travel westward across Manitoba to Saskatchewan.

Day 32: Swift Current - Edmonton, AB

A day of travel as we cross into Alberta and reflect on a trip of memories with fellow travellers and newfound friends.

Day 33: Depart Edmonton, AB

After breakfast, transfer to the Airport and board a return flight with wonderful memories of Atlantic Canada.
