What You Can Expect

On this half-day dog sledding adventure, sled across a frozen river topped with untouched snow in the Takhini Valley. You will be surrounded by low-lying mountain ranges where the only sound you hear is your dog team, running at a modest pace as they love to do. Enjoy beautiful, scenic and historic trails, with great photo opportunities. Upon arrival, sign a mandatory waiver and get dressed with proper winter gear. Afterwards, your trained and certified guide will teach you the basics of mushing, how to drive your sled, how to balance, and how to steer and brake. Then, take to the wilderness by a team of very friendly, dedicated Alaskan Huskies. You'll dog-sled on the river or trails (2-hour trail time maximum). After the tour, return the clothes and round up with a hot chocolate, coffee, and homemade brownie. Winter gear, including parka, snow pants, warm boots and mitts are included. Hand and foot warmers, if required. Travel in a small group, with a maximum of 4 sleds per guide, to give you the best possible experience.
